Chris started Roaring Mouse Cycles in the spring of 2001 with the aim of creating a quality bike shop with, as the shop's motto states, excellent service and no attitude. Growing up in the frozen north of England with few resources and less cash Chris taught himself bike building and maintenance as a way of supporting his bike habit. Mostly time trialing (weirdly popular in the UK) and road riding in his teens he moved onto mountain biking racing in his twenties when college bought him to the US, and added bike commuting and multi-day charity riding in his thirties. Now in his forties and running a shop, a house and a son with a bike habit of his own he is mountain biking, commuting and throwing himself into the occasional race where his ambitions are small... don't be last... don't crash... don't get poison oak. Future ambitions are to set up his life where bikes can play more of a day to day role in transportation with the aim of losing at least one car.
